Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 July 2026. This policy explains how Designs by Racquel collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
1. Who we are
Designs by Racquel ("we", "us", "our") is a Singapore jewellery business. We are responsible for the personal data we collect from you when you browse our store, place an order, book an appointment, or contact us.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Your name and preferred name.
- Contact details: email address, phone or WhatsApp number.
- Billing and delivery address.
- Order and purchase history.
- Sizing and preference details you share with us, such as ring, bangle or bracelet measurements and style notes, to help us fit and recommend pieces.
- Appointment details and any notes about your enquiry.
- Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp or our contact forms.
We do not collect or store your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment provider (see section 5).
3. Why we use it
We use your personal data to:
- Process and fulfil your orders, including delivery and returns.
- Take payment and issue receipts and invoices.
- Arrange shipping and, for overseas orders, customs and duty.
- Book and manage appointments and bespoke enquiries.
- Respond to your questions and provide customer care.
- Send you updates about your order, and, where you have agreed, occasional news about new pieces and offers.
- Keep proper business, accounting and tax records as required by law.
4. Your consent
By providing your personal data and placing an order, you consent to us using it for the purposes above. Where we rely on your consent for marketing messages, you may withdraw it at any time (see section 8). We will only send order-related messages that are necessary to serve you unless you have opted in to marketing.
5. Who we share it with
We share the minimum personal data needed with trusted service providers who help us run the business. These include:
- Our payment provider, to take and secure your payment.
- Our shipping and courier partners, to deliver your order.
- Our email and messaging providers, to send you order updates.
- Our secure cloud hosting provider, to store our records safely.
We require these providers to protect your data and to use it only for the services they provide to us. We do not sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure a comparable standard of protection to the PDPA.
6. How we protect it
We store your data in secure systems with access limited to authorised staff, encryption in transit and at rest, and role-based controls. We keep internal records of who accesses sensitive information.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law:
- Order, invoice and accounting records: kept for at least 5 years, as required by Singapore tax law (IRAS).
- Sizing, preferences and appointment notes: kept while you remain an active customer, and reviewed periodically.
- Marketing consent: kept until you withdraw it.
When you ask us to erase your data, we anonymise your personal details across our systems while keeping the financial records the law requires us to retain. Those retained records no longer identify you personally.
8. Your rights
Under the PDPA you may, at any time:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and how we have used it.
- Ask us to correct any personal data that is wrong or out of date.
- Withdraw your consent to marketing messages.
- Ask us to erase your personal data, subject to records we must keep by law.
To make any of these requests, contact our Data Protection Officer (see section 9). We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
